The Intersection of
History and Intrigue

Zane Raub is a novelist of espionage and historical fiction, known for blending high-stakes tension with gritty character-driven realism. His work explores the “gray areas” of history — the moments where loyalty is tested and the line between hero and villain becomes dangerously thin.

A Lifelong Fascination

Drawing on a lifetime interest in wartime history and the geopolitical chess match of the 20th century, Zane’s writing is rooted in deep research and a passion for “what if” scenarios. He doesn’t just aim to recount the past; he aims to put the reader inside the room — or, in the case of his latest work, on the ice.

His stories reflect a unique perspective on the human cost of global conflict, written for readers who appreciate layered storytelling and narratives that challenge simple answers.

Personal Background

After more than three decades as a mechanic in western NY, Zane Raub turned a lifelong fascination with history, espionage and human resilience into fiction. Drawing inspiration from real events and ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances, his stories explore the choices, sacrifices and consequences that shape history.

Beyond the Pages

Based just outside of Buffalo, NY, Zane draws inspiration from the rugged industrious spirit of Western New York. When he isn’t navigating the shadows of 1959 Russia or researching intelligence operations CIA spycraft, he is an observer of the quiet details of daily life that make characters feel real.

Zane is currently developing multiple works that continue to push the boundaries of the thriller genre. His books are available in hardcover, paperback, digital, and audiobook formats, ensuring that whether you’re at home or on the move, the intrigue is never far away.
